Exhibitions and Critics

Exhibitions

Enrico Fenogli has participated over the years in numerous personal and collective exhibitions, mainly in Switzerland, gaining success with the public and critics.
Among these, at the beginning of his career and particularly noteworthy, the “Third Biennial of the amateur painter” in Lugano in 1964 in which Fenogli obtained the first prize, or again in Lugano in 1966 the very successful personal exhibition at the "Elite" gallery that consecrated him definitively in the eyes of the critics, together with the “Third exhibition of the artists of Campione” in 1967.
In the following years, other exhibitions in Lugano, at Villa Ciani and Palazzo Cetica with drawings and graphic work. The first prize of painting "La Madonnetta" in 1973 and the “Collective STBA” of Villa Malpensata, alternate with collective exhibitions of painters campionesi (“Elicottero Gallery” of Lugano) and ticinesi (Poschiavo, canton Grigioni).
Not negligible finally the production of Fenogli to accompany his literary works (among others, "Giochi d’amore” in 1980, "Michin di Frà” of 1985, "L’aria del Riasc" in 1987) and in particular the "Poiane" in 1973 on valuable edition GiulioTopi with ink drawings of considerable expressive form, consistent with the poetic texts.

A Few Critics

“Enrico Fenogli's painting, "Verso sera" winner of the First Prize at the ‘Third Biennial of the Painter’ at the former studio of the R.S.I. in Lugano is striking for its balanced composition and controlled pictorial language.”

Giuseppe Martinola

“In Fenogli's pictorial research, the series of small "skinny oils" presented at ‘Elite’, takes on particular importance because the experience is at a level of lightning review of the values achieved, to arrive at a world of fantasy freed from all formalistic research. Hence the grafting of that genuine lyrical vein that knows how to welcome the result of a previous research, re-evaluated through an appropriate language, open to impulses, to intemperance, to the incitements of the intimate. The surface, in Fenogli's painting, is enriched with an inner luminosity, like a reverberation of things. It is one of the plastic elements of this painting, it’s most interesting aspect.
I therefore feel it is my duty to draw the attention of the connoisseur to Fenogli's painting as of now.”

Guglielmo Volonterio

“Enrico Fenogli, who has already exhibited in Lugano, is in the paintings of this ‘Third exhibition of campionesi artists’ in full chromatic research, in a commitment to deepen a dynamic born from a divisionism that tends to mosaic, and that includes, not without wisdom, a wave motion that is grace, a sense of serenity.”

Guglielmo Volonterio

“Enrico Fenogli, winner of the first prize of painting "la Madonnetta", uses a nervous chromatic notation exploding in backgrounds to invigorate the whole composition. Landscape in which he knows how to capture meanings and atmospheres with pictorial descriptions that transcend the pure representation to convey towards a delicate poetry.”
